From my roots in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales and as a working aquatic biologist, I have retained a great interest in and respect for the natural processes that shape and form our landscape and support our natural systems. Hopefully this is reflected in the photos I take which seek to capture the beauty and function of our living landscapes. For me, Banjo Patterson describes that intangible beauty of our unique natural areas so elegantly in his poem "Clancy of the Overflow"
"And the bush hath friends to meet him, and their kindly voices greet him
In the murmur of the breezes and the river on its bars,
And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended,
And at night the wond'rous glory of the everlasting stars."
